First CKC show for the puppies - & 2 BISs for Ernie (and CH)!

Puppies Meme and Dozer went to their first CKC show this past weekend, with Meme winning two Best of Breeds / Best of Winners / Best Puppy in Breed - and five points toward her CKC Championship. Dozer received one Best of Breed / Best of Winners / Best Puppy in Breed - and a total of two points for his efforts. Good puppies! But their dear, old 'great, great' uncle Ernie shocked us all and won TWO Best in Shows (altered class) - at almost eleven-and-a-half years of age! The furry dollies had a great weekend!

First UKC Show for the puppies and new UKC CH!

I took six month old Meme, Dozer and their mom, Tinker, to a UKC show in Quebec this past weekend. Little Meme came home with three 'Best of Winners', three Best of Breeds, three Group Firsts - and one adult Best in Show and an adult Reserve Best in Show! Meme should meet the requirements for her first championship and will be BIMBS RBIMBS UKC CH Slushpuppy's Voodoo Envy! Since she was 'finished' she didn't do the fourth show. Her brother Dozer won 'Best of Winners', Best of Breed, and one Group First. Good puppies! Will update their pages when I get the show photographs :)

Their mom was entered in the weight pull, winning her class (80 - 100 pounds - she's 98 pounds) and did pull several times. Tinker hasn't taken to dirt pulls and, while she does well with snow pulls, isn't as fond of the dirt carts so she's definitely improved some since the last pull she was in, two years ago. All three 'Slushpuppys' did very well!

By trade I have been a journalist, photo technician, photographer, and art director. For the past 15 years however I've worked in media and design education. I still love to shoot portrait photographs of Alaskan Malamutes, along with action and other types of pictures.

These days I teach multimedia subjects, including basic, intermediate, and advanced Web subjects (without the coding), photography, writing and design. I have no desire however to work commercially - and so my dogs Web sites gives me an opportunity to explore Web technologies in a 'real-world' context.

While I know and use about 100 software applications, things like Weebly (what this version of my site is built in), provide invaluable insight into how 'normal' people (the bulk of the computer world) might use or create for the Internet and not just the tech community with which I am associated.

The dogs are my 'pets' while their Web site is my electronic playground :)
